JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Provides innovative and modern architectural approach, in alignment with Organizations technical vision, goals and standards.
• Activities involve creating technical architecture blueprints, defining standards for design and development, review requirements and identify Non-functional requirements and ensure architecture decisions are aligned to meets the technical and business objectives of the mobile app.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Lead the architecture and design of native and hybrid Mobile Applications on Android
• Lead and mentor iOS developers to ensure technical excellence in development of Android applications
• Conduct architecture, solution design & code review of Android applications.
• Drive the identification and implementation of all NFR aspects related to Android development
• Ensure best practices related to UI components, performance, security, device resource utilization is leveraged to provide optimal app performance.
• Collaborate with product teams to understand functional and non-functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between engineering and product teams to ensure that solutions meet both technical and business needs.
• Participate in design and architecture reviews to ensure that proposed solutions meet the requirements and align with the overall architecture.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects from other LOBs to identify synergies in solutions and to adopt and standardize common tools and technologies across organization
• Ensure that recommended technical architecture is manageable, maintainable, scalable, resilient, sustainable, cost-effective whilst addressing business requirements
• Contribute to the development of architecture governance structures, methodologies, and compliance activities of the organization
• Plan and execute proof of concepts to demonstrate the feasibility of idea, complex solutions, and cutting-edge technologies.
• Responsible for ensuring that all application Non-Functional Requirements are met, ensure thorough testing of NFRs and ensure corrective / preventive actions
• Ensure that products/projects are adhering to the relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices.
• Lead root cause analysis of reported critical incidents in operational production systems and recommend/ ensure the implementation of effective preventive actions to avoid repetition
• Partner with DevOps team to ensure seamless deployment and maintenance of the application.
• Find opportunities to innovate using technology advancements, to the benefit of the product
• Share best practices and knowledge with engineers to promote continuous learning and improvement.
• Define and implement technical standards, best practices, and patterns for Android mobile development.
• Own all architecture decisions of the application and ensure these are documented as part of Architecture Decision Records
• Recommend the right choice of tools & libraries in alignment with the organization standards.
• Ensure all architecture decisions are in alignment with corporate security standards and guidelines.
• Identify technical debts and define the technology roadmap for Android applications.
• Articulate the benefits of architecture modernization to stakeholders and ensure the adoption of the latest and proven engineering practices & technology trends in the development of Android applications.

ABOUT YOU - SKILLS

• 10+ years of experience in IT.
• 5+ years of experience as Lead Architect for large android applications (B2C/B2B/B2E).
• In-depth understanding of Android programming paradigms, frameworks, and design patterns
• Hands-on experience with a variety of Android technologies, including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and cloud-native Android frameworks
• Strong grasp of software design principles and patterns
• Proven experience in designing and implementing high-performance, secure, and maintainable Android applications
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and principles
• Experience DevOps, DevSecOps methodologies, and Software Development Life Cycle.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs / GraphQL
• Expertise in Product and Solution Design of Large-scale applications
• Domain expertise on Airline Domain would be an added advantage
• Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
• Strong solution design skills to build scalable, resilient, and sustainable solutions to address business requirements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
