About the Job: Steer Studios aims to establish a leading gaming studio in Saudi Arabia, focused on developing high-quality games for international audiences. The company strives to nurture the local gaming sector and make Saudi Arabia a global hub for gaming. As a Jr. Game Designer, you will collaborate with a team of talented global gaming professionals in Riyadh.

In this role, you will design game mechanics, systems, rules, and features while coordinating with the Lead Designer to realize the game vision. Your responsibilities will include staying updated on player trends, creating innovative gameplay experiences, and reviewing game features for quality and fun factor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay current with player trends and integrate them into design.
  • Create engaging gameplay systems and mechanics aligned with the game's vision.
  • Independently manage creative ideas and document details in a Game Design Document (GDD).
  • Ensure game features meet fun criteria and adhere to defined GDD.
  • Provide feedback on game updates for quality control and user experience improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with artists, developers, and team members.
  • Communicate progress and report findings to the Design Lead.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

  • 0-4 years of experience as a game designer.
  • Strong understanding of mobile gaming trends and mechanics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation.
  • Familiarity with game metrics and analytics tools.
  • Experience with Unity for prototyping and game development.
  • Knowledge of game design principles and player motivations.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel or any scripting language for game design configurations.
  • A Bachelor's degree or diploma in game design or a related field is preferred.
