As part of the Steer Studios team, you will collaborate with some of the best global gaming talents who have relocated to Riyadh, alongside passionate and innovative Saudis.
Requirements
- Senior 3D Artist with a strong understanding of 3D pipelines for characters, props, and environments.
- Work closely with the Lead Artist and the production team to produce 3D models optimized for mobile devices.
- Mentor a team of artists and oversee work done by external teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 3D art assets for characters, props, and environments.
- Develop both high and low-poly art assets using a variety of techniques.
- Implement effective 3D practices and drive the pipeline, working with shaders and texturing techniques.
- Propose improvements for the 3D pipeline and processes.
- Integrate art assets into Unity or other game engines, addressing any modeling or texturing bugs.
- Create rigs for props and small objects.
- Demonstrate experience with PBR rendering, texture atlases, and mesh animations.
- Manage multiple projects with varying artistic styles and work under pressure.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for game ideas.
- Provide feedback and oversight on vendor management tasks.
- Mentor junior team members, taking on senior responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications and Key Skills
- Expertise in 3D software such as Maya, Zbrush, and Substance Painter.
- Extensive knowledge of 3D asset creation and pipeline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a 3D Artist, with a portfolio that includes at least 3 shipped games (mobile or console).
- Preferred educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or college diploma (BFA or equivalent).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and intuitive skills in 3D tool creation.
- Proficient in Unity and other game engines, with experience on a range of devices from mobile to console.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to work in a team and delegate effectively.
- Excellent time management and priority-setting skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to produce clear documentation.
- A passionate gamer with a keen eye for detail, both technically and artistically.
