Actively Looking for Work
I build web products end to end — requirements, UI design, frontend, backend, and the infrastructure underneath. I started as a UI/UX designer in 2015, moved into frontend engineering in 2020, and for the past year I've been the only engineer on three production systems that would normally be staffed by a small team.
Most of that work has been for Japanese companies, where nobody hands you a finished spec. I sit with the business side, work out what they actually need, propose an approach, build it, and support it after launch.
Vehicle customization and quote engine — A commercial-van dealership needed customers to get a live, accurate price for any modification combination. I delivered the public site, the CMS, and the pricing engine: 114 priceable configurations, 2,845 option-compatibility rules, resolved by a shared rules package that the customer-facing calculator and the admin both use, so sales and the website can never show different numbers. Around 66,000 lines of TypeScript, 1,033 tests. SolidStart, Nuxt, TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, D1, R2.
Corporate site and self-built CMS — Replaced a rental-equipment company's template platform with a custom CMS and a statically generated storefront. Non-technical staff compose page layouts themselves from 15 block types with about 60 rendering variants; the editor and the public site share one schema, which removes an entire class of "the editor has a field the site won't render" bugs. Around 40,000 lines of TypeScript, 350 tests. Nuxt, Astro, Vue, Cloudflare Workers, D1.
Internal task and request platform — Kanban tool for about 99 employees across 11 departments, replacing a spreadsheet workflow. Built real-time board sync without CRDTs: the server broadcasts only which data has gone stale and clients refetch normally, so the existing optimistic-concurrency and ordering logic kept working unchanged. Around 42,000 lines of TypeScript, 485 tests. SvelteKit, Cloudflare Workers, D1, Durable Objects, WebSocket.
React has been in my stack since 2020, alongside the newer frameworks above.
Full-stack, forward-deployed, or solutions engineering roles in the UAE and the wider Gulf. On-site, relocating on employer sponsorship. I'm most useful on teams where the engineer is expected to talk to the customer, not just consume tickets.
