Artificial Intelligence Subject Matter Expert & Energy Sector Specialist
I am an Artificial Intelligence Subject Matter Expert and Energy Sector Specialist with over 10 years of experience bridging the gap between advanced technology and complex energy systems. With a "Big 4" consulting background and a Ph.D. in Deep Learning and Predictive Control, my key strengths lie in leading the end-to-end development of data-driven solutions mainly but not exclusively within the regulated energy sector. I excel at translating complex business requirements into robust technical architectures, possessing a proven track record of steering cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions in fast-paced, international environments.
Currently, I serve as an Assistant Manager at KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in Germany, directly reporting to the Service CTO and collaborating with Senior Management and Partners/Directors to drive the development of comprehensive AI consulting offerings for national and international clients. My day-to-day involves the lifecycle management of complex AI implementations (LLMs, RAG, predictive models) on Microsoft Azure. I act as the technical bridge between business stakeholders and engineering teams, frequently assuming the role of technical leader to guide colleagues and assist leadership through complex AI deployments.
Crucially, my focus on impact has driven significant financial returns for the firm and its clients:
Prior to KPMG, I worked as an Energy Management Expert at Deutsche Post DHL Group, where I managed real estate energy data, optimized data models, and built automated decision-support tools (using VBA, Excel, and Access) to drive corporate efficiency.
My industry expertise is grounded in rigorous applied research. As a Scientific Researcher at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, I contributed to the BMBF project "EnerSHelF," developing AI-driven predictive control for PV-diesel hybrid systems and sector-specific AI load models for healthcare facilities in Ghana. I also formulated deep learning models for solar radiation forecasting using sky camera data.
I hold a Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in Resources and Sustainability / Informatics and Data Science from Promotionskolleg NRW (Graduated with "Sehr gut"). My thesis focused on predictive control models for grid regulation. I also hold an M.Sc. in Renewable Energies and a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, I am an active peer reviewer for high-impact international journals (Elsevier, Springer, Nature).
I am seeking leadership and management roles—such as Head of AI, Director of Data & AI, or AI Practice Lead—within forward-thinking tech companies, scale-ups, or energy organizations. Having successfully bridged the gap between strategic consulting and technical delivery at the Big 4, my objective is to focus mainly on strategic management and organizational leadership. I aim to shape the high-level vision of AI initiatives, manage cross-functional departments, and steer the development of high-impact AI products that seamlessly combine profitability, sustainability, and innovation. I am deeply passionate about this space because I believe intelligent automation and predictive modeling are the fundamental keys to solving complex operational challenges we encounter in business.
