Actively Looking for Work
I'm a Staff iOS engineer with 19 years in software — 18 of them building iOS products since 2008 — including the last decade at Meta, Spotify, and MealPal. My core is Swift, Swift Concurrency, and AVFoundation / media systems at production scale, but what sets me apart is a hardware-and-systems background most app engineers don't have: BLE/CoreBluetooth, real-time audio (RTP/PJSIP), sensor and motion APIs, USB device drivers, and reverse-engineering custom device protocols. I've worked the full stack from the firmware and wire layer all the way up to polished product UI, which means I'm comfortable wherever a problem actually lives.
What I've built
Meta (2025–present) — I own AI features end-to-end, taking them from concept through public launch on Instagram and Messenger, and I drive AI-native engineering on the team: authoring internal coding-agent playbooks and applying a self-built multi-agent dispatch mesh to accelerate iteration. I also caught and resolved a launch-blocking app-size regression by leading a cross-pod investigation, and shipped a modular settings architecture that cut binary size and lifted developer velocity.
Spotify (2020–2025) — I led the migration of the Home Feed video player to Spotify's internal media framework, unlocking video podcasts and video ads on iOS and lifting session duration. I designed player prewarming and thread-pool orchestration for instant first-frame rendering while respecting hardware decoder limits and preventing decoder starvation across a multi-feed surface, and authored the Focus API that determines active playback context across the feed.
MealPal (2016–2020) — I led mobile 0-to-1 as the lead engineer: owned the architecture and technical direction, designed the client-facing API alongside backend engineers, built a Fastlane + TestFlight pipeline that took the team from manual releases to continuous delivery, and shipped every major feature from ambiguous concept to tested experience.
Earlier, I built BLE controller apps for vehicle accessories, VoIP on PJSIP and streaming on Live555, a smart-building control iPad app, and low-level Windows USB driver and protocol reverse-engineering tooling in C/C++.
I also build and run my own AI tooling — coding agents, a self-hosted MCP knowledge-vault server, and multi-agent meshes — and use them daily as a force multiplier on system design, debugging, and cross-domain delivery. Beyond iOS I work in Kotlin, Go, Python, and server-side Swift (Vapor) when a problem reaches past the app layer.
Education: Specialist's Degree (Master's-equivalent) in Computer Systems & Networks and a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering (ZIEIT, Ukraine).
I'm open to fully remote roles or relocation to the UAE or Saudi Arabia, and I'm coming from a senior big-tech background.
