Our approach to investing is scientific, combining data, research, technology, and trading expertise to develop and implement systematic strategies. Interns will join a systematic team, engage with real research or trading problems, and learn from experienced professionals in a rigorous and collaborative environment where good questions are as valued as quick answers.

Your Future Role at the company
As a Quantitative Research Intern, you will contribute within one of the company’s systematic teams, focusing on either Research or Trading:

  • Research:
You will develop predictive signals from large and diverse datasets. This involves exploring data for patterns, forming hypotheses, designing tests, questioning results, and iterating based on findings. Collaborating with other researchers, you will learn to identify promising signals amidst noise and understand the complete research cycle—from an initial observation to a strategy ready for live trading.

  • Trading:
In this role, you will support the live deployment of the company’s research by engaging with the systematic trading platform. You'll monitor signal performance in production, track efficiency, manage risks, and collaborate with senior Researchers and Traders to enhance strategy robustness and scalability. Your work will include quantitative analysis and programming to assess live systems and identify potential improvements.

Your Present Skillset
The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Academic background: Pursuing an advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering.
  • Quantitative foundations: Strong analytical skills with the ability to apply mathematics, statistics, and computation to complex problems.
  • Programming: Experience in at least one programming language such as Python, C++, or C#.
  • Research interests: Familiarity with statistics, machine learning, NLP, or AI techniques is beneficial but not required.
  • Data handling: Experience exploring large datasets across multiple time horizons is a plus.
  • Problem-solving abilities: Capable of rigorously navigating complex problems and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Independence and collaboration: Comfortable working autonomously as well as exchanging ideas with team members from various disciplines.
  • Communication skills: Ability to clearly articulate reasoning and technical concepts.
  • Language proficiency: Fluent in English; additional languages are advantageous.

Interviewing
The selection process includes:

  • Online Application: Submit your application with thoughtful responses detailing your interests and motivations, reviewed on a rolling basis.
  • Technical Assessment: Selected candidates will engage in a coding challenge to assess programming and problem-solving skills.
  • Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will participate in interviews either on-site or via Microsoft Teams, focused on evaluating quantitative and technical thinking, problem-solving approach, and collaborative skills.

Candidates are also encouraged to participate in our Data Challenges, which offer the opportunity to tackle relevant quantitative research problems and showcase your analytical and technical skills. Strong performers may receive direct follow-up from our team.

Benefits
The company is committed to being an equal opportunity employer, embracing diversity as vital to our success. We empower employees to work openly and respectfully to achieve collective success while promoting initiatives for a healthy work-life balance.
