2ND ENGINEER

About the Role

The position involves overseeing the operations within the engine room and assisting the Chief Engineer with the daily activities of vessel and tug movements. Adhering to the company's regulations, policies, and operating procedures is paramount to ensure the smooth operation of the vessel.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day engine room operation, assisting the Chief Engineer in the overall management of vessel/tug activities.
• Ensure the maintenance of all engine room and deck machinery to facilitate uninterrupted operations.
• Guarantee that all machinery and safety systems are functioning correctly, efficiently, and within designated parameters.
• Take ownership of personal objectives and align them with the division's goals.
• Investigate and respond to the needs of both internal and external stakeholders effectively.
• Build and maintain critical relationships with clients and contractors.
• Proactively address external client needs to align with business priorities.
• Encourage collaboration across departments and within teams to foster a cooperative work environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Marine or Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent professional qualification.
• Certificate of Competency as 2nd Engineer (COC).
• Minimum of 5 years of sea-going experience.
