We are seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional for an Accountant position in Dubai, UAE. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial records, bookkeeping, reconciliation, and financial reporting. This role requires an Accounting or Finance degree or a relevant accounting qualification, along with a commitment to accuracy, professionalism, and knowledge of standard accounting practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and accounting transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payment records.
- Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and financial analysis.
- Support VAT documentation, filing preparation, and applicable UAE accounting compliance.
- Process invoices, journal entries, and general ledger adjustments.
- Coordinate with auditors and management during financial reviews.
Required Skills
- Accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Preparation of statements and management reports.
- Matching bank records with accounting ledgers.
- Financial calculations, reporting, and data analysis.
- Understanding of applicable UAE VAT procedures.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar accounting software.
- Knowledge of IFRS and UAE accounting requirements.
- Experience assisting with financial audits and month-end closing.
Work Experience Requirements
While specific experience is not mandated, typical benchmarks indicate 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally covering bookkeeping, financial reporting, and reconciliation. Prior UAE accounting experience may be advantageous.
Education
- Minimum: Accounting / Finance degree or relevant accounting qualification.
- Preferred: B.Com, BBA Finance, or equivalent recognized accounting qualification.
- Additional: ACCA, CA, CMA, or related certifications may be advantageous.
