The AD – Technical Engineer will be a key member of the Technical Management MEP department, driving engineering excellence for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across large-scale steel structures. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with local codes, and delivering innovative, cost-effective solutions from concept through handover.
Responsibilities
- Develop and review MEP design calculations, drawings, and specifications for steel building projects.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems.
- Perform site inspections and supervise installations to verify compliance with design and codes.
- Resolve technical issues and provide engineering solutions during construction.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and as-built documentation.
- Conduct value engineering and cost optimization studies.
- Ensure adherence to local regulations, standards, and company quality procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers and support the technical team.
- Participate in tender reviews and provide technical input for bid proposals.
- Utilize BIM and CAD tools for clash detection and model coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering (or related MEP discipline).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP design and construction, preferably in steel building projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks for BIM coordination.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian building codes and international standards (e.g., IEC, ASHRAE).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and produce technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
- Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
