Join a leading company in the elevator and escalator industry, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of our products at client sites. You will be responsible for conducting essential safety checks and performing various maintenance tasks on elevators and escalators, contributing to the movement of 2.4 billion people daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct safety checks at all points before initiating work at the client site.
- Perform cleaning, lubrication, and testing of the over speed governor.
- Check static balancing of the units, correcting overbalance in counterweights and adjusting final limits, under the guidance of a Senior Adjustor/Adjustor.
- Lubricate the Safety Action Mechanism and conduct tests according to defined procedures.
- Under guidance, install door skates and set door locks after driving the product through inspection mode, stopping at each landing to check bolt and fastener tightness.
- Conduct unit safety checks by traveling the car top through the shaft and checking for interference between moving parts, cabin, counterweight, or any other equipment.
- Verify all electrical operations of the unit, including car door, buttons, and intercom functionality.
- Escalate concerns at job sites to the Supervisor, fill out the NCR, and document process infractions and safety issues.
- Set contact parameters in the controller and place the lift in normal operation.
- Adjust acceleration and deceleration and ensure ride quality according to OTIS recommended standards.
- Inspect the motor pit and escalator steps for construction debris and clean as necessary, adhering to safety guidelines.
- Test escalators by removing the comb at both end plates, manually winding the motor for one complete cycle to check for obstructions.
- Prepare inspection reports for new installations, field test data, safety checks, and OTIS safety audits.
Requirements
- Experience in elevator and escalator maintenance is preferred.
- Familiarity with safety guidelines and operational standards in the mechanical and electrical domains.
- Ability to work under guidance and collaborate with a team, ensuring high safety and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills to escalate issues effectively.
