Agile Manager

About the Job
Sopra Banking Software is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join the Digital Engagement Global Business Unit, which is responsible for developing, commercializing, and operating the Digital Banking Suite (DBS). This role involves leading one of the product squads in a fast-paced environment characterized by complex scenarios. The candidate will work closely with the Product Owner and Scrum Master to ensure effective sprint planning, capacity management, and adherence to Agile principles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Product Owner to:

  • Ensure the planned workload aligns with team capacity and skills during PI planning.
  • Identify dependencies across team backlogs.
  • Ensure the backlog is well-defined and user stories are clear.
  • Reassess priorities in case of delays or missed objectives.

• Partner with the Scrum Master to:

  • Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration within the team and with external stakeholders.
  • Support and coach the team to achieve their objectives.
  • Identify and remove obstacles to enhance team performance.
  • Monitor progress and track metrics to ensure sprint commitments are met.

• Manage the execution of sprints, ensuring the team meets their goals and objectives, while addressing:

  • Dependencies across teams.
  • Risks, proposing mitigation strategies to the Program Manager.
  • Compliance with software development best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of experience managing teams of software engineers.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Agile software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum or Kanban) and related tools (e.g., GitHub, Jira, Jenkins).
• Excellent project management skills, along with banking domain knowledge.
