About the Role
As an AI Builder, you will lead your own Applied AI startup, taking on the role of CXO while driving vision, strategy, and execution. You will collaborate with a talent-dense team to build and deploy the training and inference stack that empowers enterprises to develop reinforcement learning (RL)-based agents. AI Builders have the flexibility to work across three tracks, focusing on the area that aligns with their experience and interests.
- Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE):
Embed directly with enterprise CXOs and senior stakeholders to identify high-value problem spaces and translate them into deployable AI systems, integrating them into the company's core platform, primitives, and tooling.
- Product:
Iterate on the company's product toolkits by capturing cutting-edge applied AI patterns that enhance delivery leverage. Gather usage insights from production environments to refine product abstractions and interfaces for deployments.
- Research:
Work at the forefront of post-training research; training and fine-tuning models, building agents, designing evaluation frameworks, and creating RL environments for specific enterprise domains. Feed key breakthroughs and techniques back into the company's core platform, ensuring the product remains at the cutting edge as the field evolves.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to define and scope AI systems that address real-world business challenges.
- Conduct technical discovery sessions to translate ambiguous problems into clear AI solutions.
- Communicate complex model behaviors effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Engage in the iterative development of AI products, leveraging user feedback to enhance functionality.
- Drive research initiatives that contribute to the advancement of AI techniques and methodologies.
You may be the right fit if you have:
- Experience in applied machine learning, particularly in reinforcement learning, evaluations, product engineering, or top-tier management consulting. A proven ability to deploy AI creatively to solve real-world problems is ideal.
- A strong foundation in machine learning fundamentals, including evaluation, training, and problem decomposition. Preferred backgrounds include Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, Machine Learning, or Data Science.
- Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Proficiency in software engineering principles and familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
