Responsibilities:
- Own the technical architecture of our AI / LLM systems end to end, including framework and tooling choices through to deployment.
- Build reusable platform components such as a model gateway, permission-aware RAG, agent orchestration, secure tools/MCP connectors, and internal-system integrations.
- Translate security and compliance policies into technical controls for SSO/RBAC, data classification, isolation, PII, secrets, approvals, and audit.
- Establish evaluation, observability, and release gates covering answer and retrieval quality, safety, cost, latency, reliability, and drift.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to convert priority problems into shipped, dependable solutions with appropriate human oversight.
- Maintain a modular and vendor-neutral architecture to prevent dependency on a specific framework or model provider.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong Python and production backend/API experience.
- Hands-on production experience with tools such as LangChain/LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, or Microsoft Agent Framework/Semantic Kernel.
- Experience in building permission-aware RAG and ingestion pipelines using LlamaIndex, Haystack, or LangChain, along with vector stores like pgvector, Pinecone, or Qdrant.
- Solid cloud-native engineering fundamentals, with experience in evaluation and tracing using tools like LangSmith or DeepEval.
- Implementing guardrails with tools such as NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails or OpenAI Guardrails.
- Strong communication skills to translate ambiguous problems into scoped milestones, architecture decisions, runbooks, and reliable software.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience handling sensitive data in fintech, banking, or regulated environments (GDPR, SOC 2, PCI).
- Familiarity with model gateways, multi-provider routing, LLM cost controls, and tracing/evaluation platforms.
- Working knowledge of TypeScript/React or multi-tenant SaaS.
