About the Role
The AI-Native Team Coach enables AI-Native teams to adopt, apply, and continuously improve the AI-Native delivery model. This role establishes effective delivery practices, develops team capability, and helps teams become increasingly autonomous as they mature. The coach is accountable for improving the system through which teams deliver value by strengthening collaboration, flow, transparency, empiricism, and continuous improvement. Additionally, the coach assists teams in utilizing approved AI capabilities to enhance their planning, building, testing, coordination, and learning processes. While the relevant business Product role and AI Value Architect maintain accountability for value, product priorities, and solution direction, the team specifically retains delivery accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the AI-Native delivery model by contributing to its design and continuous evolution, drawing on AI-Native SAFe, Lean, Agile, Scrum, and Kanban, while adapting these approaches to the organizational, security, and operational context.
  • Establish and evolve team ways of working by coaching teams in the adoption of the AI-Native delivery model, first establishing consistent core practices and progressively enabling greater team autonomy as their capability and maturity develop.
  • Strengthen empiricism and measurement by helping teams establish and use meaningful measures of outcomes, flow, quality, and team health to support learning, decision-making, and improvement.
  • Enable AI-supported delivery by helping teams identify activities where AI can eliminate repetitive work, improve quality, accelerate feedback, or support better decisions, all while maintaining appropriate human judgment, review, validation, and accountability.
  • Address impediments and systemic constraints by coaching teams to resolve issues within their control and facilitating broader intervention with appropriate leaders, functions, or specialists when issues cannot be reasonably resolved within the team.
  • Build team capability and autonomy through targeted coaching, facilitation, and delivery interventions where they add value, while developing the teams’ capability to manage their own routine planning, coordination, review, and improvement activities.
  • Share learning and improve wider practice by identifying, capturing, and sharing insights across AI-Native teams and LACE, including recurring delivery challenges, reusable practices, effective uses of AI, and opportunities to improve the AI-Native delivery model.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience coaching Agile teams and improving technology delivery systems in a complex enterprise environment, with a preference for experience working with small, cross-functional, or highly AI-enabled teams.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Lean and Agile principles, Scrum, Kanban, flow, empiricism, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in establishing new teams or assisting teams in adopting, stabilizing, and maturing new ways of working.
  • Experience coaching multiple teams or serving as a shared coaching capability across a portfolio, division, or value stream.
  • Experience in helping teams visualize work and use delivery, flow, outcome, quality, and team-health measures to facilitate evidence-based improvement.
  • Practical understanding of how AI tools and capabilities can augment product and technology delivery, including planning, backlog refinement, analysis, development, testing, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong coaching, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-engagement skills.
  • Experience using Jira or comparable work-management and delivery-visualization tools.
  • Ability to identify systemic constraints, dependencies, and recurring delivery problems while facilitating appropriate cross-team or organizational interventions.
  • An appropriate coaching or Agile certification, such as SAFe Practice Consultant, ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF, Certified Scrum Professional, PSM, or an equivalent qualification.
