The opportunity
- Design and build the technical layer of the AI platform, from integration surface to production runbook. Identify and close capability gaps by evaluating vendors or developing solutions in-house.
- Own the governed integration gateway as an engineering surface, handling connector onboarding, authentication flows (OAuth and federated identity), reliability, and vendor escalation when issues arise.
- Develop internal tooling that extends the platform, including agent scaffolding, reusable skills and prompt assets, evaluation harnesses for model changes, provisioning automation, and AI tooling integrations with systems of record.
- Configure and operate tiered spend controls across the AI estate. Set role-based caps, develop alerting rules, manage exception queues, conduct monthly reconciliations against vendor commitments, and mitigate single author risk in cap automation.
- Implement technical controls covering data handling, retention, and model eligibility. This will involve identity integration, SSO, SCIM, role-based entitlement, and configuring workspaces according to various retention terms.
- Work directly with teams to remove obstacles. Collaborate to understand workflows and build or configure tools that amplify their efficiency.
- Conduct technical enablement sessions, including in-depth tool rollouts, office hours for model releases, and maintaining authority over engineering details in knowledge base materials.
- Administer the enterprise AI estate end-to-end, including model deployments, feature enablement, provisioning queues, vendor configurations, and managing seat true-ups.
What you bring
- Experience with enterprise SaaS administration for 1,000+ seats, preferably including AI or LLM platforms.
- Proven track record of building and shipping operational software, with proficiency in Python or comparable languages. Familiarity with version control, CI, containers, and secrets management.
- Background in integrating LLM and SaaS APIs, along with an understanding of agent and tool usage patterns, including MCP or similar architectures.
- Working knowledge of identity and access principles. Experience with platforms like Okta, OAuth, SCIM, SSO, and federated machine identity.
- Operational discipline with familiarity in intake queues, SLAs, runbooks, and documenting fixes promptly.
- Effective teaching skills, able to explain technical capabilities to varied audiences including compliance, traders, and backend engineers.
- Strong written communication for technical documentation, runbooks, and policy pages.
- Ability to exercise judgment on development needs, distinguishing between essential organizational capabilities and less viable demo features.
Nice to haves
- Experience establishing internal developer or AI platforms, including self-service and guardrail frameworks.
- Knowledge of FinOps or software asset management practices.
- Experience with low-code or workflow automation platforms.
- Deep knowledge of Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, or JSM.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory audit processes in the financial services sector.
