AI/ML Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Transaction Services Development:

  • Develop and maintain backend services responsible for processing and presenting banking transaction data.
  • Implement features that improve the visibility and usability of transaction data for end-users.
  • Ensure the optimal performance and reliability of transaction processing systems.

• Financial Data Enrichment:

  • Design and build systems to establish links between related transactions and identify relevant patterns.
  • Implement entity recognition techniques to identify and categorize transaction parties.

• Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Applications:

  • Deploy, fine-tune, and optimize machine learning models for transaction categorization, merchant enrichment, reconciliation, and other data enrichment processes.
  • Utilize Natural Language Processing (NLP) to extract valuable insights from transaction descriptions.
  • Develop and implement algorithms to derive financial intelligence from comprehensive transaction data.

• API Development and Management:

  • Design and develop RESTful APIs for seamless integration with internal and potentially external systems.
  • Manage and maintain existing API endpoints, ensuring their stability and efficiency.
  • Create comprehensive API documentation and enforce consistent interface design principles.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Backend Development Expertise:

  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining APIs.
  • In-depth knowledge of service-oriented architecture principles and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of database operations, performance optimization, and data modeling.

• AI/ML Implementation Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in implementing and working with various machine learning models.
  • Solid understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques, particularly for text classification and entity extraction.
  • Practical familiarity with popular machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn and PyTorch.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and significantly improve machine learning model performance.

• Financial Data Acumen:

  • Working knowledge of financial transaction structures and data elements.
  • Ability to analyze transaction data and interpret its significance in a business context.
  • Genuine interest in financial technology (FinTech) and its diverse applications.

• Effective Communication:

  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
  • Strong ability to analyze requirements, identify gaps, and request clarification when necessary.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record of implementing ML/AI solutions in production environments.
• Prior experience or a strong interest in the FinTech or financial services industry is highly advantageous.
