Air Electrical Battery Shop Technician Supervisor

About the Role
The Job Holder within the Typhoon Maintenance Organisation is responsible for the Air Electrical and Battery Shop, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement while fulfilling company line management responsibilities. This role includes providing functional direction and guidance, and exercising duty of care, welfare, health, and safety. The objective is to effectively deliver all activities specified in the shop component repair plan, supporting the Salam Project’s success against Maintenance Support Service contracted Operational Readiness (OR) and Key Performance Measurements (KPM).

Responsibilities

• Uphold a safety-first approach, implementing safety measures and guidelines to protect personnel, product, and operations. Support and promote Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) and Product Safety & Environment (PS&E).
• Ensure adherence to the company Operational Framework, Life Cycle Management (LCM) practices, Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness (M&CA) Mandates, Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), and Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Logistics Management Regulations (LMR) to meet contractual obligations.
• Enhance customer satisfaction by supporting maintenance, airworthiness, safety, and continual improvement; develop new ways to improve customer experience and grow the maintenance organization.
• Drive a culture of Continuous Improvement (CI) throughout the maintenance organization, encouraging innovative ideas and initiatives.
• Accountable to the Primary Line Manager, with access to the Secondary Line Manager for independent issue resolution within the Air Electrical and Battery Shop maintenance environment.
• Review maintenance practices to identify potential areas for improvement.
• Recognize malpractice that could affect airworthiness or safety and report issues to the Senior Maintenance Manager.
• Ensure the necessary facilities and resources are available to perform duties and meet contractual obligations.
• Monitor personnel standards to identify negative trends, non-conformities, or motivational deficiencies.
• Responsible for development reports within direct and indirect line management in their Area of Responsibility.
• Foster a trust-based working environment with clear standards of acceptable behavior in accordance with the company’s Code of Conduct.
• Provide training, consolidation, and counterpart development activities to RSAF personnel and company personnel.
• Ensure all tasks align with designated timeframes to support Forward Maintenance and SMU activities.
• Maintain operational readiness of shop equipment according to the shop component repair plan; ensure correct tooling and approved data are available, and manage deficiencies.
• Report any damage or deficiencies to equipment and infrastructure using the appropriate media.
• Ensure all maintenance personnel are authorized to undertake tasks in their Area of Responsibility.
• Maintain an anti-FOD surveillance initiative and report potential hazards through regular checks of the shop and components.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks meet the highest quality standards and accurately reflect maintenance performed.
• Conduct oversight checks to ensure exemplary shop husbandry.
• Address any deficiencies in planning and escalate issues related to consumables and PPE promptly to management.
• Hold 2nd Signature authority to undertake required responsibilities.

Job Requirements
Essential

• A recognised qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or a suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
• At least 7 years of post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment, supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training, or 3 years on the same aircraft type.
• Leadership skills with a proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.
• Relevant type training (‘Q’ Course) and equipment-specific training if required.
• Candidates must obtain Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level prior to starting the new role or commencing employment in KSA, maintaining SCE membership throughout employment in this role.

Desirable

• Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures.
• Broad aerospace and defence company/industry knowledge.
• Proven supervisory experience in the relevant area.
• Understanding of RAF and/or RSAF engineering operating procedures.
• Track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
• Previous experience delivering workplace training.
• Understanding of ESS or similar electronic-based reporting systems.
