We are hiring an Alliances Field Engineer to assist our major partners, such as Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, and Tata, in understanding and integrating our open source platform for their own use and for their customers. Our field engineering team provides expertise in solving real-world customer problems, facilitating enterprise adoption of technologies like Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and AI/MLOps.

In this role, you will work closely with global companies to aid them in adopting public and private cloud infrastructure, cloud-native operations, and open source applications. The position requires engagement with OEMs, GSIs, ISVs, channel partners, and public cloud alliance partners to help define joint go-to-market programs from a technical perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and apply knowledge of Ubuntu, Linux, networking, and services in real-world settings.
  • Design cloud infrastructure solutions using Kubernetes, OpenStack, and other technologies, either on-premises or in public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Integrate popular open source software solutions, such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, and NGINX.
  • Collaborate with partners to develop joint solutions utilizing the company's technologies.
  • Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and conduct technical validations with partners.
  • Prepare and facilitate onboarding sessions/workshops for partner teams to promote the company's products and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, and software automation.
  • Experience designing and implementing solutions on public or private clouds.
  • Proficiency in Python and bash, with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
  • High motivation and multitasking ability, with reliable follow-up.
  • Interest in customer-facing engagement, including pitching and understanding customer needs.
  • Familiarity with new technologies like LXD, Juju, and Snaps.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.
