Key Accountabilities
KPI Framework
- Design and maintain a connected KPI tree comprising North Star metrics, primary, and secondary KPIs for each function.
- Assign ownership for each KPI with certified definitions and links to the encompassing KPI.
Planning and Simulation
- Oversee the analytical aspects of the annual and quarterly planning cycle.
- Create driver-based models that simulate targets and ensure alignment between function and company targets.
- Conduct scenario analysis for leadership and Finance, justifying the assumptions made.
Performance Reporting
- Manage monthly and quarterly performance reports.
- Provide explanations for significant deviations (misses or beats) with actionable recommendations.
Data-Backed Priorities
- Define top data-supported focus areas for each function each quarter.
- Monitor the adoption and impacts of recommendations on KPIs.
- Develop experiments and undertake post-launch measurements for key initiatives.
Single Source of Truth
- Establish and enforce metrics and definition control, ensuring dashboard integrity across the organization.
- Confirm that leadership forums rely exclusively on certified numbers.
Team and Operating System
- Hire, mentor, and develop the analytics team, evaluating their work for logical consistency and quality.
- Create role scorecards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each analyst, pairing them with a specific business function.
- Manage demand intake and priority setting, ensuring the team focuses on high-value projects rather than ad-hoc requests.
Qualifications & Experience
Must Have
- 6–8+ years in analytics with at least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing analysts.
- Experience with a consumer marketplace or two-sided platform (travel, rideshare, delivery, e-commerce) at scale-up stage.
- Proven ownership of KPI frameworks, planning models, and performance reviews at the executive level.
- Demonstrated capability in enhancing an analytics function beyond mere reporting.
- Proficient in advanced SQL (BigQuery preferred) and BI tools (Metabase or similar).
- Strong skills in forecasting, scenario modeling, variance analysis, and experimental design.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively at the board level.
