You will spearhead the development of a high-performing analytics team and establish an operating rhythm to ensure that leadership can make faster, evidence-based decisions. By integrating analytics into the company's planning cycle, you will take ownership of performance measurement, explain findings, and prioritize data-driven initiatives across functions. Key Accountabilities
KPI Framework
- Design and maintain a connected KPI tree: defining a North Star metric along with primary and secondary KPIs for each function.
- Assign each KPI to one owner, providing a certified definition and a clear link to the KPI above.
Planning and Simulation
- Own the analytical side of the annual and quarterly planning cycle.
- Build driver-based models to simulate targets and ensure that function targets align with company-wide goals.
- Conduct scenario analyses for leadership and Finance, defending the underlying assumptions.
Performance Reporting
- Own monthly and quarterly performance reports.
- Clarify any significant discrepancies with actionable insights and recommended actions.
Data-backed Priorities
- Establish top data-driven focus areas for each function every quarter.
- Monitor the adoption of recommendations and assess their impact on KPIs.
- Create experiments and post-launch evaluation processes for key initiatives.
Single Source of Truth
- Enforce certified metrics, ensure definition control, and maintain dashboard hygiene across the organization.
- Guarantee that leadership forums utilize only validated metrics.
Team and Operating System
- Hire, coach, and develop the analytics team, reviewing their work for logic and quality.
- Create role scorecards and standard operating procedures for each analyst, pairing them with specific business functions.
- Manage demand intake and prioritization to ensure the team focuses on high-value tasks instead of ad-hoc requests.
Qualifications & Experience
Must Have
- 6–8+ years in analytics, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in a consumer marketplace or two-sided platform such as travel, rideshare, delivery, or e-commerce during the scale-up phase.
- Proven ownership of a KPI framework, planning models, and performance reviews at the executive level.
- Experience in developing or enhancing an analytics function beyond just reporting.
- Advanced SQL skills (BigQuery preferred) and familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Metabase).
- Strong capabilities in forecasting, scenario modeling, variance analysis, and experimentation.
- Strong written and spoken English, with capabilities suited for board-ready communication.
