Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Agile engineering practices and various software and mobile development technologies to rapidly create efficient solutions that enhance client, customer, and employee experiences.
- Collaborate with teams to create user stories, design tests for prototypes and products, and continuously deliver product enhancements.
- Communicate across departments to negotiate timelines, deliverables, and dependencies.
- Model and promote best engineering practices and Agile behaviors within the team.
- Set and manage expectations about delivery methods and timelines with business stakeholders.
- Drive best practices in automation, particularly continuous integration and deployment.
Specialist Skills/Technical Knowledge Required:
- Passion for development and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Familiarity with pair programming, continuous integration, and test-driven development.
- Experience with Android development patterns, including Java OOP, MVP, SQLite, JSON/REST APIs, and multi-threading/background tasks.
- Expertise in mobile development using Android SDK, Google Play Services, and Android Compatibility Library.
- Extensive experience in Android front-end/UI development, with knowledge of Google Material Design, web services, XML/JSON/REST connectivity, and local storage/databases/SQLite.
- Familiarity with common Android libraries (e.g., Dagger2, Retrofit2) and build tools (e.g., Fastlane).
- Solid understanding of version control using Git.
- Knowledge of infrastructure components like RESTful APIs and Single Sign-On.
Previous Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years in software development, particularly in Agile teams using SCRUM.
- Extensive mobile development experience creating applications for both phones and tablets.
- Proficient in writing and executing unit and UI tests.
- Experience converting high-fidelity designs to mobile UI.
