About the job:
Virtusa is seeking an experienced Android Developer with a strong background in providing high-performance, enterprise mobile applications on a global scale. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of coding experience in Android and Kotlin, and a solid understanding of object-oriented software development and Android SDK design patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Android applications, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Understand and work with large and complex codebases, employing API design techniques to maintain code cleanliness and manageability.
• Design clean and maintainable APIs, and possess knowledge of Android Architecture Components.
• Manage the full lifecycle of Android apps, from initial development to deployment through the Google Play Store.
• Engage in multi-threading, memory management specific to mobile devices, and implement caching mechanisms.
• Apply CI/CD principles and troubleshoot issues in distributed services ecosystems.
• Utilize MVVM and Clean Architecture methodologies, and have expertise in Dependency Injection and Functional Programming.
• Follow best practices in coding, security, unit testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate within Agile methodologies, ensuring quality in technical and application architecture across the organization.
• Research and benchmark technology against leading industry standards.

Required Skills:

• Strong technical expertise in Android application development and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Firebase.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with senior and executive management.
