We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cloud Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a focus on supporting our edge delivery and security platforms, reporting to our lead for this area. This role will involve proactively and reactively tackling delivery and security threats while improving the overall capacity, performance, and security posture of our Internet-facing applications.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain the CDN aspects of application and infrastructure services.
- Implement best practices for monitoring, alerting, and logging to enhance observability maturity.
- Participate in incident investigation and forensic analysis of complex application and infrastructure issues.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues and provide production support.
- Analyze emerging technologies, features, and industry trends, including adoption and showcasing business benefits.
- Collaborate with Security SMEs and senior application architecture stakeholders to implement response, mitigation, and prevention strategies at the WAF layer.
- Review security findings, including penetration tests, bug bounty submissions, and live incidents.
- Participate in on-call rotation, responding to incidents in a timely and effective manner.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a related role.
- Experience with all aspects of Web & API workloads, including underlying protocols.
- Additional experience supporting API-focused, native mobile, and CMS applications is preferred.
- Proficiency in managing cloud CDN and WAF services, preferably Akamai.
- Strong understanding of TCP, DNS, TLS, and HTTP.
- Experience implementing solutions to meet security best practices and governance standards such as PCI-DSS, OWASP, etc.
- Experience implementing observable systems with APM tools and techniques (e.g., New Relic, Dynatrace, Datadog, Azure Monitor).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using tools like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
