As an API Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our platform's core APIs. You will be responsible for the entire API test automation lifecycle, from design to analysis, within an Agile framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain API test automation frameworks.
- Automate functional, integration, performance, reliability, and contract API tests.
- Develop and execute Python-based test scripts.
- Integrate API tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Analyze test results, report defects, and collaborate on resolutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to quality strategies.
- Take ownership of API quality and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain and enhance automation scripts and documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with API testing best practices and tools.
- Troubleshoot and analyze API failures using tools like ElasticSearch and Kibana.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of QA experience with expertise in manual and automation testing.
- Strong API testing skills, including proficiency in Postman.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Proficiency in a programming language, preferably Python or JavaScript.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for complex API issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to API quality.
- Proactive, self-motivated learner with high ownership.
- Experience managing cross-dependency testing with other release trains.
- Solid understanding of micro-service architecture testing.
- Financial industry experience is a plus.
