Objectives of This Role

  • Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure.
  • Building tooling and automation to close feedback gaps in the CI/CD pipeline, developing new integrations with third-party services, and monitoring the health of our build/deploy infrastructure.
  • Increasing developer and release velocity, improving code health, improving code security by surfacing vulnerabilities, and building developer tools.
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
  • Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes.
  • Collaborating with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
  • Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support.
  • Build tools to reduce errors and improve customer experience.
  • Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues.
  • Develop scripts to automate visualization.
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.

Experience and Education Qualification

  • Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or a relevant field.
  • 5-6 years of experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role.
  • Relevant DevOps experience in engineering applications for a large company.
  • Experience administering Atlassian Tools like Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence & Crowd.
  • Proficiency with GitLab and GitHub workflows.
  • Experience setting up and working with Jenkins in a containerized environment.
  • Experience with Repository Management Tools like JFrog Artifactory.
  • Experience with Jenkins and Jenkins shared libraries (Groovy).
  • Experience with build and packaging of containerized applications using Docker and container management tools like Kubernetes/OpenShift.
  • Experience with static code analysis tools like Coverity, SonarQube and dynamic analysis tools like BDBA, Protecode, etc.
  • Strong skills in VMware ESXi: configuration, troubleshooting, and tuning for performance.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language (Python, Groovy, Ruby) to develop integrations.
  • Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux.
