Objectives of This Role
- Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure.
- Building tooling and automation to close feedback gaps in the CI/CD pipeline, developing new integrations with third-party services, and monitoring the health of our build/deploy infrastructure.
- Increasing developer and release velocity, improving code health, improving code security by surfacing vulnerabilities, and building developer tools.
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes.
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes.
- Collaborating with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
- Planning projects and being involved in project management decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 2 technical support.
- Build tools to reduce errors and improve customer experience.
- Perform root cause analysis of production errors and resolve technical issues.
- Develop scripts to automate visualization.
- Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance.
Experience and Education Qualification
- Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or a relevant field.
- 5-6 years of experience as a DevOps engineer or in a similar software engineering role.
- Relevant DevOps experience in engineering applications for a large company.
- Experience administering Atlassian Tools like Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence & Crowd.
- Proficiency with GitLab and GitHub workflows.
- Experience setting up and working with Jenkins in a containerized environment.
- Experience with Repository Management Tools like JFrog Artifactory.
- Experience with Jenkins and Jenkins shared libraries (Groovy).
- Experience with build and packaging of containerized applications using Docker and container management tools like Kubernetes/OpenShift.
- Experience with static code analysis tools like Coverity, SonarQube and dynamic analysis tools like BDBA, Protecode, etc.
- Strong skills in VMware ESXi: configuration, troubleshooting, and tuning for performance.
- Proficiency in a scripting language (Python, Groovy, Ruby) to develop integrations.
- Working knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux.
