The position requires a self-driven individual who thrives in a technically driven team environment with minimal functional management. You will have the opportunity to work on electrical design related to Electrical Switchboard & Switchgear for both North American (UL) and European (IEC) markets.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Electrical design team and CAD in preparing detailed design drawings and documentation.
- Conduct thorough reviews of tender information including specifications, single line diagrams, and quotations for compliance with customer requirements.
- Review and create electrical design drawings, mentor junior team members, and lead the development of new practices within the design team.
- Ensure product designs comply with relevant NEC and UL standards.
- Engage with the Application Engineering team to create cost-effective designs that meet customer needs.
- Develop customer prototype designs and support the quotation process.
- Create software for control equipment and develop test scripts to validate functionality.
- Represent Vertiv on NFPA (NEC) panels to influence electrical code in the USA and collaborate with purchasing and operations on component selection strategies.
Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven experience in design engineering with a track record of managing multiple projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of UL standards, including UL 1558, UL 891, UL 489, and UL 1066.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.
- Adaptability in a fast-moving business environment and a proactive approach to teamwork.
