In this exciting position, the Multimedia Content Reviewer will be responsible for writing and reviewing linguistic content in a language in which they hold native-level proficiency. This ensures the highest level of accuracy for customers using leading multimedia platforms. Over time, the Multimedia Content Reviewer will act as a cultural ambassador for their language market, producing fully localized content and identifying potential cultural issues with various content types. They will also articulate suggestions to ensure that all content is appropriate and relevant for target markets.
The ideal candidate should possess a background in journalism or a similar field, demonstrate proven creative writing skills, and have a keen attention to detail. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about music, film, and technology, with a familiarity for iOS and macOS devices.
Main Duties
- Localize, translate, and adapt content across various categories including multimedia, legal, technical, and marketing, while adhering to writing style guides and guidelines.
- Create new copy for diverse multimedia products such as music, TV and app store applications, video-on-demand services, and game subscription services.
- Conduct regular linguistic reviews of their own work and that of other localization team members for all content types.
- Copy-edit and fact-check content to ensure overall accuracy.
- Perform Localization QA (LQA) testing on any content published on live platforms, including music and app descriptions, marketing materials, and campaigns.
- Conduct market-specific research on local content treatment, terminology trends, and best localization practices for target audiences.
- Transcribe spoken content, such as lyrics.
- Report on data and/or assets across a broad scope of media and content types.
- Review linguistic assessments, create training materials and documents for new projects, and ensure that other members of the localization team are fully trained on terminology, style, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the global language team via virtual meetings and email on content review tasks to ensure the alignment of terminology and style, understanding of trends, and market-specific insights.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in journalism, copywriting, or copyediting media content related to music, TV, and applications, with proof of writing samples.
- Experience in the translation and localization of multimedia content.
- Skilled at quickly identifying issues and inconsistencies across large amounts of content, making sound judgment calls based on available information.
- In-tune with and knowledgeable about music artists, TV, cinema, gaming, and pop culture.
- Capable of taking ownership of language market matters and making linguistically confident decisions.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in written and verbal English.
- Strong computer literacy; familiarity with iOS/macOS systems is a plus.
- Ability to type in their native-level language using a standard (English) keyboard.
- Capable of working independently and remotely.
- Enjoys teamwork and collaboration in a multicultural environment.
