Responsibilities
- Develop efficient test fits for data centers, including various functional zones.
- Optimize layouts based on rack density, MW capacity, scalability, and phasing strategies.
- Integrate redundancy principles (Tier III / IV) into architectural solutions.
- Coordinate with MEP, structural, and ICT teams effectively.
Test Fit & Concept Design
- Deliver high-quality, rapid test fits for site selection and feasibility.
- Evaluate multiple design scenarios while considering constraints, capacity, and performance.
- Translate technical requirements into clear spatial layouts and diagrams.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead discussions, workshops, and presentations with clients.
- Clearly communicate complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones.
Project Delivery
- Manage multiple parallel test fit packages under tight deadlines.
- Ensure accuracy, coordination, and high-quality outputs in all deliverables.
- Support design progression from concept to schematic stages.
Leadership & Attributes
- Exhibit strong ownership, accountability, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to lead small teams and mentor junior staff.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in architectural design within international consultancy environments.
- Proven experience in data center projects (hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise).
- Strong track record in test fits, feasibility studies, and concept design delivery.
- Experience working with hyperscaler clients (e.g., Microsoft, AWS, Google preferred).
- Sound knowledge of UAE/GCC authority requirements and permitting processes.
- Proficiency in Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, and coordination tools (Navisworks preferred).
- Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier standards, TIA-942, and industry best practices.
- Professional registration (RIBA, AIA, ARB, or equivalent) preferred.
