We are hiring an Assistant Manager, Data Center Operations—a frontline people‑leadership role for someone with an electrical or mechanical background who is ready to progress into team leadership, operational management, and site responsibility. This position is not technically hands-on heavy; instead, it focuses on leading people, managing day-to-day operations, handling vendors, driving safety and compliance, and coordinating incidents within a mission-critical environment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
People Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of data center operations staff, setting clear expectations and high performance standards.
- Own shift/team scheduling, resourcing, and handover routines to support 24x7 operations.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development planning.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and capability building across the team.
- Foster a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Operational Oversight
- Ensure safe, reliable, and compliant day‑to‑day operations across the data center.
- Oversee routine operational activities including rounds, logs, checks, permits, and documentation.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring work is properly planned and controlled.
- Maintain high standards of operational readiness, housekeeping, and site discipline.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Act as the on‑site lead for third‑party contractors and service providers.
- Ensure all vendor activity meets safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Monitor performance, validate work completion, and drive close‑out of actions.
- Support service reviews and continuous improvement of vendor delivery.
Incident, Change & Problem Management
- Act as a first point of escalation during incidents or abnormal operating conditions.
- Coordinate on‑site response activities, communications, and recovery actions.
- Ensure incidents are accurately documented with high‑quality RCA and corrective actions.
- Support change management processes, ensuring risk is assessed, approved, and communicated.
Safety, Security & Compliance
- Role‑model and enforce health, safety, and security standards at all times.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and audit expectations.
- Maintain accurate site documentation, records, and training compliance.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and risk‑management activities.
Stakeholder & Customer Support
- Partner closely with Engineering, Security, Construction/Projects, and Customer Operations teams.
- Support customer requirements and site readiness, including professional engagement during visits or tours.
- Enable project delivery through strong operational coordination and risk management.
Who We’re Looking For
Essential Experience & Background
- Electrical or Mechanical background.
- Experience working in a data center, critical facilities, FM, or mission-critical environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading people (Supervisor, Shift Lead, Team Lead, or similar).
- Experience coordinating vendors and supporting maintenance or operational activities.
- Comfortable operating in a 24/7, high‑availability environment.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong people‑leadership mindset with the ability to coach, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Operationally disciplined, structured, and process‑driven.
- Calm and decisive under pressure, particularly during incidents.
- Clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.
- Strong focus on safety, compliance, and doing things the right way.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- 2+ years in a supervisory or people‑management role.
- Exposure to incident management, RCA writing, and change management.
