About the Role
The Assistant Manager, SWIFT & Cross-Border Payments Regulatory Initiatives is responsible for supporting the delivery of strategic SWIFT and cross-border payment initiatives across the company Group, including international entities. This role involves interpreting regulatory requirements, preparing business necessities, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the successful implementation of payment-related programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager to interpret regulatory requirements and prepare business requirements.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and ensure the successful implementation of regulatory and strategic payment programs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for SWIFT standards, SWIFT applications, Payment Hub functionalities, and cross-border payment processes, providing operational, governance, and implementation support across various functions.
  • Develop and socialize Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), coordinate stakeholder reviews and approvals, and support functional specification development, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal governance requirements.
  • Own the day-to-day operational support of the Payment Hub, driving continuous enhancements to improve operational efficiency, user experience, system functionality, and process effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with local and international stakeholders to standardize payment capabilities across Group entities, promote the reusability of solutions, and optimize technology investments by eliminating duplicate developments.
  • Support the governance of SWIFT-related services and commercial arrangements, which include managing and reconciling SWIFT invoices, monitoring budgets, and ensuring adherence to financial governance and approval frameworks.
  • Contribute to regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and the strategic objective of enhancing cross-border payment capabilities while maintaining robust governance and control standards.
  • Facilitate the successful planning, governance, and implementation of SWIFT strategic initiatives and cross-border payment programs across the Group, ensuring effective governance and execution with minimal operational disruption.
  • Identify and implement initiatives that enhance payment capabilities, operational efficiency, and client experience.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of SWIFT standards, messaging formats, and SWIFT-related applications.
  • Good understanding of cross-border payment infrastructures and market infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of ISO 20022 migration, payment processing workflows, and Payment Hub architecture.
  • Ability to prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), perform impact assessments, and support project delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of banking compliance, operational risk, and governance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project management tools.
  • Holds a Swift ISO 20022 Expert certification from a recognized institution.
  • Experience in leading product and process enhancements to streamline operations and increase efficiency.
  • Experience in assisting businesses in resolving urgent or critical issues related to cheque clearing and payment processes.
  • Experience providing full lifecycle support to clients, from initial business interaction to project implementation and beyond.
  • Experience in conducting requirement analysis and review, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Background in MIS Reporting, Regulatory Submission, Operational Risk, and other relevant job roles.
  • Additional experience in Internal Controls.
