The Department of Information Technology at the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Professor position in Artificial Intelligence, commencing in Fall 2026. Qualifications & Experience
- Graduated with a Ph.D. from a reputable university
- Outstanding teaching record
- Strong research and publication record in top journals
- Experience supervising student projects and thesis papers
- Collaborative and interdisciplinary research experience is advantageous
- Proven record of community service and scholarly activities
- Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Reinforcement Learning, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning Operations (MLOps), or a closely related field from a reputable university
- Additional qualifications include:
- Outstanding teaching record in AI-related courses
- Strong publication record in top-tier AI and data science journals/conferences
- Experience supervising student projects, capstones, and graduate theses
- Evidence of community service and scholarly activities
- Preferred experience with AI tools, frameworks, and cloud platforms
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Pattern Recognition, Machine Learning Operations, AI for Robotics, and related fields
- Engage in innovative, technology-enhanced, and student-centric teaching methods
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees
- Promote the growth of the company
- Provide consultancy services to researchers and the business community
- Assess and track students' progress and provide feedback to support their ongoing success
- Contribute to the growth and visibility of the company through teaching, research, and service
- Conduct high-quality research and publish in reputable journals and conferences
- Ensure a respectful, inclusive, and culturally sensitive learning environment
- Establish effective professional relationships across the University
- Mentor and motivate students and colleagues
- Continuously update teaching materials and methods to align with advancements in AI
- Maintain learning-conducive relationships with students
- Perform additional job-related duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Familiarity with the "Credit Hour" academic system
- Ability to supervise student work and provide academic advising
- Conduct independent research and publish in reputable venues
- Work effectively with diverse teams
- Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
