What You'll Be Doing:
- Perform well-defined field engineering assignments primarily involving constructability reviews and the observation of work in progress.
- Maintain first-level quality assurance to ensure the installation adheres to plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Assist construction personnel with general technical details.
- Provide resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline; coordinate application of solutions.
- Establish and maintain liaison with the discipline design engineering staff.
- Monitor discipline construction schedules and assist in progress appraisal.
- Provide schedule and progress appraisal data to the Resident Engineer.
- Monitor material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
- Ensure that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented as per approved procedures.
- Promote safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.
- Maintain a daily log for permanent records of project construction and discipline data for final project turnover and report.
- Review Contractor’s submissions.
- Supervise site inspection staff.
- Prepare progress reports.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of overall experience in infrastructure, road works, and utilities projects (dry and/or wet).
- Proven track record in supervising all aspects of road and general infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in computer applications for data access, record management, report generation, and relevant engineering/construction software.
- Strong command of English, both written and spoken, with excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Solid understanding of engineering and construction processes, as well as industry standards and best practices.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Good knowledge of contractual relationships.
- Fully computer literate and able to utilize technology for data access, record maintenance, report generation, and relevant software.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Maintain necessary records and as-built records, and assist with the handover of utility works to respective service authorities.
