About the Role:
The company is looking for an amazingly talented Assistant Resident Engineer (Roads and Infrastructure) to join our team in RAK, UAE. In this role, you will assist in supervising construction works related to roads and infrastructure, ensuring quality and safety standards are met while working closely with various teams and stakeholders.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of roads and infrastructure works and associated items.
- Act in place of the Resident Engineer when on leave or absent.
- Coordinate direct activities with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and correspondence related to the utility section, preparing replies for review.
- Coordinate with the company’s design engineers for resolution of related issues.
- Maintain the daily diary and daily reports by the inspectors.
- Coordinate with contractor engineers on scheduling and application of resources.
- Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
- Convene and chair special meetings with service authorities, contractors, subcontractors, and other relevant parties.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project to achieve safety goals.
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.
- Act positively and participate in health and safety issues at the site as required.
- Provide on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer with site instructions regarding utility works.
- Check and measure performed work in your line of work, recording progress versus programmed work.
- Ensure correctness and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within your line of work.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in design, site supervision, and construction management of major infrastructure projects, including roads and bridges.
- Ability to review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, and carry out acceptance sampling plans and quality measures in compliance with project specifications.
- Sound knowledge of contractual relationships.
- Fully computer literate and able to utilize technology to access data, maintain records, and generate reports with project-specific engineering and construction software.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Capable of maintaining necessary records and managing ‘as-built’ records, assisting in handing over utility works to respective authorities and aiding contractors in obtaining necessary final clearance.
- Must be available in UAE.
