Associate / Assistant Professor in Computer Engineering

About the Role
The department of Electrical & Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) invites applications for a full-time Assistant / Associate Professor in Computer Engineering to start in the Spring semester 2025/2026. Candidates applying for this position should possess a distinguished track record in research and demonstrate a strong commitment to service, mentoring, teaching, and impactful interdisciplinary research. The successful candidate will be appointed within the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduated with a Ph.D. from a reputable university.
• Outstanding teaching record in computer engineering courses, particularly Programming, Computer Organization, Networks, Network Security, Machine Learning, Microprocessors, and Microcontrollers.
• Expected to teach additional courses such as Embedded Systems, Operating Systems, Software Engineering, and Data Structures.
• Outstanding research and publication record in top journals.
• A record of collaborative and interdisciplinary research is preferred.
• Only candidates who hold a PhD in the Computer Engineering field will be considered.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
The selected applicant will be expected to:

• Develop and teach undergraduate courses in Computer Engineering.
• Engage in innovative and technology-based approaches to learning and teaching.
• Publish high-quality research in leading internationally recognized journals.
• Participate in committees at the departmental, college, and/or university levels as assigned.
• Actively engage in promoting the growth of the University.
• Ensure a respectful and culturally sensitive learning environment in all college-focused activities.
• Provide consultancy services to researchers and the business community.
• Motivate and inspire confidence in others (students and colleagues) to overcome limitations to personal growth and success.
• Maintain relationships with students that are conducive to learning.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Familiarity with the “Credit Hour” academic system.
• Ability to supervise student work and provide academic advising.
• Conduct independent research and publish in reputable journals and conferences.
• Work effectively with diverse team members.
  -Knowledge of academic program planning and implementation.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
