As an Associate Engineer in Networks based in our Finland office, you will play a vital role in supporting Corporate IT objectives and enhancing specific services. Your daily responsibilities will include consulting on internal business unit projects, from initial requirements gathering through project execution and closeout. Collaboration with EBS and Infosec will be required to manage corporate activities and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Testing and Lab Administration

  • Order and procure new items for the lab.
  • Install devices (both hardware and software).
  • Maintain and develop lab space and network setups.
  • Handle network management tasks, including ticket processing and connectivity checks.
  • Build and maintain test setups (e.g., MTBF, EMC, demos, PoCs).
  • Generate scripts and automate processes for lab users.
  • Perform physical tasks, such as lifting network devices and furniture.
  • Track and update tasks and activities through the Jira system.

• Administration & Governance

  • Familiarize yourself with IT policies, procedures, and governance documents.
  • Ensure clarity and thoroughness in ticket documentation.
  • Oversee all activities related to KATIM phones, including testing, administration, and stock management.

• IT Operations

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for network-related tickets.
  • Manage escalations for designated services.
  • Participate in management updates and submit change requests.
  • Keep IT service documentation and passwords up to date.

• IT Improvement

  • Document services in Confluence and ensure security compliance.
  • Ensure there is a trained backup Network Engineer available.
  • Inform the User Support team of relevant service documentation.
  • Manage corporate backup strategies and monitoring tools.

• IT Consulting

  • Provide consultation on business unit requests in line with KATIM IT initiatives.

• Self & Team Development

  • Stay current on product and security developments.
  • Complete training courses and certifications annually.
  • Conduct workshops for the IT team on supported services.

• Quality

  • Maintain a quality-first mentality across all products and documentation.

Experience and Education Qualification

• Degree in IT or equivalent, or significant verifiable experience.
• Minimum of 10 years in Technical Operations with a focus on network infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of network architectures and protocols.
• Familiarity with PM tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with virtualization, cloud technologies, and SDWAN.
• Knowledge of Cisco devices, including ISE, Wireless Controllers, and VPNs.
• Experience with firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet) and proxy servers (Bluecoat).
• Skills in generating metric reports and working within Agile methodologies.

Key Skills

• Minimum Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP); CCIE is a plus.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA Security) preferred.
• Microsoft and cloud certifications are advantageous.
• VmWare certification is a plus.
