We are seeking an Associate Support Engineer to support the technical needs of our customers using Ubuntu and our open-source products. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a passion for Linux and open-source technologies, providing an opportunity to engage with complex technical challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing technical support from your remote home office via telephone, email, and web.
- Taking ownership of support cases and ensuring high customer satisfaction.
- Contributing to knowledge base articles and drafting technical notices for communication.
- Identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery and participating in weekend work rotations as necessary.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in a technical subject (preferred fields: Computer Science, MIS, Electrical Engineering).
- Experience with Linux troubleshooting, and knowledge of Linux server administration.
- Familiarity with programming fundamentals in languages such as bash, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, C, C++, or Go.
- Understanding of networking concepts and basic virtualization/cloud computing.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural, multinational environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience supporting virtualized environments (KVM, Virtual Box, VMWare).
- Active contributions to open-source projects or forums.
