As an Associate Linux Support Engineer, you will be accountable for delivering an outstanding technical support experience across Canonical’s offerings, including cloud, desktop, and IoT. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical support from your remote home office.
  • Taking ownership of new cases via telephone, email, and web, while keeping customers updated.
  • Ensuring each support case adheres to our Service Level Agreement (SLA) and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Contributing to knowledge base articles and maintaining shared knowledge.
  • Drafting and distributing technical notices for communication.
  • Prioritising tasks effectively and continuously learning as products evolve.
  • Engaging in regular weekend working rotations.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in a technical subject or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Linux troubleshooting and server administration.
  • Basic knowledge of programming (bash, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, C, C++, Go).
  • Familiarity with networking and virtualization/cloud computing concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment and handle customer-facing pressures.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for company events.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience in supporting virtualized environments (KVM, Virtual Box, VMWare).
  • Active contributions to open-source projects.

Language Requirements:
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
