We are seeking an Auto Electrician – IoT Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and supervision of automation, telemetry, IoT, and monitoring systems across dewatering, diesel fuel, and pumping operations. The role will focus on improving operational efficiency, reducing site running costs, and developing automated monitoring solutions. A key responsibility will be the end-to-end management of the Fuel Monitoring & Management System, covering system design, procurement, installation, monitoring, reporting, and ongoing management.
Key Responsibilities
Fuel Monitoring & Management
- Install, commission, maintain, and monitor fuel monitoring hardware and systems across company sites.
- Manage the Fuel Monitoring & Management System from design through ongoing operation.
- Prepare monthly diesel consumption reports for each site, comparing actual consumption against targets and charged rates.
- Verify supplier invoices and fuel deliveries against sensor data, flow meters, and physical dip checks.
- Identify, investigate, and report discrepancies in fuel consumption or deliveries.
Remote Telemetry & Monitoring
- Research, evaluate, procure, install, and commission telemetry systems across multiple sites.
- Develop remote monitoring solutions for deepwell pumps, including:
- Pump ON/OFF status
- Current/amp monitoring
- Overload protection
- Phase failure
- Earth leakage
- Locked rotor protection
- Monitor piezometer water levels, discharge flow, and pipeline pressure remotely.
- Ensure reliable data collection and system performance across all connected sites.
Central Monitoring Platform
- Manage and maintain a centralized monitoring platform for all connected sites.
- Configure SMS alerts and notifications for critical operating conditions.
- Develop automated monthly reports for internal management and clients.
- Support the transition towards remotely monitored sites with reduced dependence on full-time personnel.
Training & Automation Adoption
- Train operational and technical teams on automation, IoT, telemetry, and monitoring systems.
- Support employees in adopting automated processes and new technologies.
- Promote efficient use of monitoring systems to improve operational control and reduce site costs.
Project Management & Coordination
- Prepare project schedules and provide weekly progress reports to the GM, DGM, and Plant & Maintenance Manager.
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Manage implementation activities from planning and procurement through installation, commissioning, and ongoing support.
- Ensure projects are delivered according to agreed timelines and technical requirements.
HSE
- Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, and environmental requirements across all site activities.
- Coordinate with the HSSE team to ensure safe installation and operation of systems.
- Promote near-miss and incident reporting and support a strong safety culture across project sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Geotechnical/Geology Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automation, controls, telemetry, IoT, or monitoring equipment.
- Practical experience with electrical systems, instrumentation, sensors, monitoring equipment, or automated control systems.
- Strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Willingness and ability to work on project sites and field locations.
- Ability to work effectively within a multinational and cross-functional team.
- Strong coordination, reporting, and project management skills.
