You will be responsible for overseeing the modification, installation, maintenance, and repair of operations computers and PLC equipment and systems. Responsibilities
- Adhere to automation standards focused on DCS and PLCs.
- Direct the modification, installation, maintenance, and repair of operations computers/PLC equipment and systems.
- Evaluate and implement cost savings opportunities for equipment and facilities.
- Investigate possible solutions to engineering problems, exercising innovation and engineering judgment to identify the optimum method or technique for automating the process.
- Provide support for existing control systems platforms, including developing and implementing system backup and restore procedures.
- Be involved in hands-on calibration, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of plant breakdowns.
- Ensure proper day-to-day scheduling of works and necessary resources, assigning and reviewing work performed with staff.
- Be responsible for programming and maintaining PLC software, including modification and customization.
- Carry out programming and validation for the commissioning of new or modified equipment.
- Provide automation support for process optimization.
- Support instrumentation technicians and assist maintenance with technical issues.
- Maintain appropriate documentation related to equipment maintenance, processes, and performance, analyzing it as necessary to determine and capitalize on best practices.
- Manage automation system accounts and system security strategy.
- Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.
Qualifications
- Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
