We are looking for motivated, customer-focused people to join our team as Automation Engineers (AE). The focus of the AE role is to fault find, troubleshoot, and improve controls solutions for automated material handling equipment, such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, scales, Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems, and control cabinets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the site level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all controls systems and sensors within the building.
  • Actively monitor, fault find, and repair systems to provide a high level of equipment availability to internal customers.
  • Train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding to enhance their knowledge.
  • Work within the AMET Controls network to monitor Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics and provide visualization and data to internal customers.
  • Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects coordinated by the AMET Controls network.
  • Collaborate with IT, AMET Controls Engineering, and Operations Engineering to ensure systems are documented and backup libraries are maintained.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment alongside global teams.
  • Provide support to other sites in the AMET network as required.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and develop improvement strategies for compliance with IEC 61131-3.
  • Perform required changes in PLC code and SCADA systems following the change management process.
  • Ensure reliability of control systems and maintain regular/documented backup collections for PLC codes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis after unplanned stoppages related to control systems and ensure closure on time.
  • Collaborate with OEMs' technical remote support teams when assistance is needed.

Work Conditions

  • Active monitoring and responding to RME customer requests through the trouble ticketing system.
  • Plan for PLC and SCADA code changes following the standard change management process.
  • Train in-house RME Technicians on basic automation troubleshooting skills.
