Join us in the company Reliability Maintenance Engineering team, where we maintain and optimize technologies in the Global company Warehouse & Delivery Network. We are looking for motivated, customer-focused individuals to join our team as Automation Engineers (AE). The AE role focuses on fault finding, troubleshooting, and improving controls solutions for automated material handling equipment including conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems. Additionally, the AE will train Engineering Technicians on device troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the site-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all control systems and sensors within the building, while actively monitoring, fault finding, and repairing systems to ensure high equipment availability.
  • Train technicians in the basics of control systems fault finding to enhance site knowledge.
  • Collaborate within the AMET Controls network to improve the monitoring of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) metrics, offering visualization and data to internal stakeholders through troubleshooting and prioritization.
  • Actively participate in or lead continuous improvement projects coordinated by the AMET Controls network.
  • Partner with IT, Controls Engineering, and Operations Engineering to maintain accurate system documentation and backup libraries.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment alongside global teams.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings while developing strategies that enhance compliance with IEC 61131-3 standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement required changes in PLC code and SCADA systems for process improvement while adhering to the change management process.
  • Ensure the reliability of equipment control systems and maintain regular documentation and backup of PLC codes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis after unplanned stoppages related to control systems and ensure timely closure of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CPAs).
  • Collaborate with OEM technical support teams for any necessary assistance.
