About the Role Discover the warm hospitality of a luxurious 5-star beachfront resort nestled on the East Crescent of the renowned Palm Jumeirah. This role involves working within a tropical and relaxing sanctuary that offers a variety of exceptional services and facilities. The position requires a skilled individual to manage audio-visual (AV) needs in support of various events held at the resort. Responsibilities - Review event orders (BEOs) and plan the AV set-up, equipment, and timing with the Events team - Install, test, and operate sound systems, microphones, projectors, LED screens, video walls, stage lighting, and video conferencing - Attend pre-event briefings, rehearsals, and sound checks; stay on standby during events to resolve issues immediately - Operate audio mixers, lighting consoles, and presentation switchers during live events - Support hybrid and virtual meetings: streaming, cameras, laptops, clicker, and connection issues for presenters - Maintain background music, paging, and AV systems in restaurants, bars, pool, beach, spa, and public areas - Dismantle, check, clean, and correctly store all equipment after each event - Run preventive maintenance on AV equipment and keep an up-to-date inventory, reporting losses or damage - Coordinate with external AV suppliers and contractors and supervise their work on property - Advise clients and the Events team on suitable technical solutions and support upselling of AV packages - Log all work orders and incidents in the maintenance system - Follow electrical safety, cable management, working-at-height and health & safety standards - Keep up to date with new AV technology and propose improvements to equipment and processes Qualifications - Diploma or technical certificate in electronics, audio-visual, sound engineering, or a related field - Minimum 2–3 years' AV experience in a 5-star hotel, convention venue, or event production company - Hands-on knowledge of digital mixers, wireless microphones, projection, LED screens, lighting, and video conferencing platforms - Good understanding of signal flow, networking basics, and AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron) is an advantage - Good spoken and written English; Arabic or French is an advantage - Valid UAE driving license is an advantage Contract Details - Job Category: Engineering & Maintenance - Job Type: Permanent - Job Schedule: Full-Time
