Position

About the Role
As an AV/Projection/Lighting/Conferencing Technician, your primary responsibility will be to set up, operate, and troubleshoot all AV equipment, including projection and lighting systems. You will oversee the setup of AV equipment in banquet and meeting rooms, ensuring all systems are fully operational, and will repair or clean equipment as necessary. You will also be responsible for labeling any broken equipment and communicating problems to your manager or supervisor. This role requires attention to detail in checking delivered equipment and room setups against the Banquet Event Order, as well as communication of any changes to flowsheets. You will assist guests in the proper usage of AV equipment, up-sell different AV services, and monitor equipment operation at appropriate intervals. After events, you will break down, remove, and secure equipment when not in use. Additionally, you will adhere to the company Visual Productions (MVP program) standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV/projection/lighting/conferencing equipment.
  • Oversee setup of AV equipment in banquet and meeting rooms.
  • Ensure all AV equipment is operational, repair or clean when necessary.
  • Label broken equipment and communicate issues to management.
  • Tape down and dress loose wires and cables.
  • Check equipment and room set-up against the Banquet Event Order.
  • Communicate changes to flowsheets to management.
  • Assist guests/customers with AV equipment usage and monitor operation.
  • Break down, remove, and secure equipment after use.
  • Follow safety and security policies; report accidents or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Develop positive working relationships to support team goals.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Related Work Experience: A minimum of 1 year of related experience is preferred.
  • Supervisory Experience: Not required.
  • License or Certification: None required.
