AVP - Data Governance & Data Quality

The AVP - Data Governance & Data Quality will lead the execution of Data Governance and Data Quality initiatives across the company. The role involves driving stakeholder accountability and improving data trust, control, and adoption. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing governance practices, ensuring enterprise data is reliable, fit for various business uses such as regulatory, financial reporting, analytics, and AI applications.

You will act as the primary coordinator for Data Governance and Data Quality efforts across business and technology domains, ensuring policies, standards, and controls are followed, and promptly addressing any data-related issues. The objective is to manage the day-to-day operations of the Data Governance & Data Quality function, engage confidently with stakeholders, enforce adherence, and escalate significant challenges when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Governance:

  • Lead implementation of the Data Governance Framework across the company.
  • Ensure Data Owners and Data Stewards understand their responsibilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in governance maturity across business units.

• Data Quality:

  • Own the enterprise Data Quality Framework and maintain monitoring processes.
  • Define and track Data Quality KPIs and perform root-cause analysis for issues.
  • Report on Data Quality risks and progress to management.

• Stakeholder Management:

  • Serve as the primary contact for Data Governance matters across various departments.
  • Hold stakeholders accountable for adherence to standards and remediation of issues.

• Regulatory, Audit & Risk:

  • Support regulatory reviews and drive the remediation of governance findings.
  • Ensure documentation and controls remain audit-ready.

• Leadership & Capability Building:

  • Develop and coach Data Governance and Data Quality resources.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years in Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management, or Enterprise Information Management.
• Strong background in banking, financial services, or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with governance and data quality tools such as Informatica, Power BI/Tableau, etc.

Core Competencies:

• Expertise in Data Governance and Data Quality frameworks.
• Strong stakeholder influence and problem-solving skills.

Language Requirements:
Fluency in English is preferred.
