Key Accountabilities
Policies, Systems, Process & Procedures
- Adhere to all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and guidelines to ensure controlled and consistent execution of work.
Continuous Improvement
- Assist in identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability within the Financial Crime Operations frameworks.
- Support the rollout of the Group’s sanctions screening and AML monitoring systems roadmap and keep the VP & Head of Tuning, Calibration & Analytics informed.
- Collaborate with Group IT and other stakeholders to draft BRD/FSD documentation and ensure the design of effective sanctions screening and AML monitoring systems.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to deliver agreed-upon tuning and optimization projects while providing periodic updates to the VP & Head of Tuning, Calibration & Analytics.
- Conduct user training for affected personnel to ensure smooth transitions during implementations.
- Manage change requests with Group IT for necessary platform adjustments, ensuring timely coordination, program structuring, and system architecture modifications as needed for financial crime control capabilities.
- Implement fit-for-purpose algorithms, parameters, thresholds, and rules across Group operations as aligned with leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Guarantee that sanctions screening systems successfully validate information against company-approved global lists and individual country lists across all locations.
Technology
- Assist in developing procedures and processes that align with Group Policy for the Tuning, Calibration & Analytics function.
- Engage in the design and system architecture discussions for sanctions screening and AML monitoring systems with relevant business users.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions for system implementations.
- Conduct regular testing of screening and monitoring systems covering data accuracy, quality, completeness, and underlying models, logic, thresholds, and rules.
Data Analysis
- Perform routine testing of payment/customer screening and AML monitoring systems to identify and assess risks, as well as to address discovered gaps.
- Continuously tune and calibrate payment/customer screening and AML monitoring systems to ensure consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the VP & Head of Tuning, Calibration, & Analytics to support local and international operations with country-specific configuration needs in relation to sanctions and AML.
- Advise related IT teams on system selections, upgrades, implementations, and initiatives affecting performance.
Reporting
- Team up with Financial Crime Operations SMEs to create tuning, calibration, and analytics MI dashboards.
- Develop and manage a periodic reporting plan and workflow for multiple reports.
- Extract data for management information dashboards using logical queries and basic programming, collaborating with Financial Crime Operations colleagues as necessary.
- Submit MI dashboards for review to the VP & Head of Tuning, Calibration & Analytics.
Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field. Financial Crime Compliance certification (ICA, CAMS) is preferred.
Minimum Experience
- A minimum of 4 years in data analysis, data management, and sanctions screening and/or AML monitoring systems with experience in tuning, calibration, and threshold management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of sanctions, AML monitoring concepts, and financial crime control environments.
- Experience with screening and monitoring platforms (e.g., Fircosoft filter, Firco Utilities) or comparable tools.
- Proficient in SQL and Power BI; familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, KSH, PowerShell) and exposure to machine learning or advanced analytics is an advantage.
