AWS Lakehouse Architect

The role requires expertise in Lakehouse architecture, specifically with AWS Glue and Medallion Architecture. Candidates should have a proven experience in implementing data modeling principles and schema evolution in Iceberg. The position emphasizes the ability to lead architectural forums and make influential decisions regarding metadata management and data quality frameworks.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Lakehouse architecture (S3, Iceberg, Glue, Spark).
• Strong understanding of Medallion architecture and data modeling principles.
• Hands-on experience with schema evolution, partitioning strategies, and table optimization in Iceberg.
• Ability to lead architectural forums and influence decision-making.
• Experience in defining metadata management, lineage, and data quality frameworks.
• Proficiency in AWS services (S3, Glue, Athena, EMR).
• Familiarity with Apache Iceberg, Spark, and OpenMetadata or similar lineage tools.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple squads and teams.
• Capacity to meet aggressive migration targets in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Jira and agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years in data architecture roles, with at least 3 years in Lakehouse implementations.
• Experience in the financial services or banking domain is a plus.
