Company Overview:
The company builds SaaS for the automotive industry, serving markets across Australia, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Our products include EvalExpert for trade-in appraisals, DriveExpert for test-drive management, and various APIs designed for dealerships and OEM partners. We are expanding our engineering team in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own backend features end to end: spec, build, deploy, monitor, and iterate.
- Drive AI coding agents through the development lifecycle and enhance the tooling for the team.
- Debug production issues, focusing on performance bottlenecks and data problems.
- Work extensively with MySQL, handling query optimization, indexing, large tables, and migrations.
- Build and scale services on AWS.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and mentor team members as the team expands.
Essential Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in building production backend systems using PHP and Node.js, with deep expertise in both languages.
- Experience shipping software with AI agents; familiarity with integrating coding agents into development workflows.
- Strong MySQL skills, including performance tuning capabilities.
- Proven ability to debug and enhance live systems.
- Candidates must currently reside in the UAE; while we sponsor visas, we do not relocate from abroad.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with custom agent tooling, CLI integrations, and agent-driven CI.
- Familiarity with AWS in production, Docker, and React.
- Understanding of queues, background jobs, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with SaaS, particularly in multi-tenant or high-traffic environments.
