The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to design, create, and implement Java-based solutions, including microservice applications and database programming. A successful candidate will demonstrate a specialist level of understanding and skill in developing a range of applications and proprietary solutions. The role requires independent work while consistently delivering top-quality, error-free outputs on time.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain Java-based applications that are high-volume and low-latency using Spring Boot.
- Interpreting briefs to develop high-quality code that meets specifications.
- Determine application functions and build objectives with the team.
- Maintain alignment of written code with project objectives.
- Handle external and embedded databases (MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Experience with Kafka and Elastic Search.
- Create database schemas that support business processes.
- Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of code versioning tools (e.g., Git).
- Understand design principles behind scalable applications and microservice design patterns.
- Implement design patterns for distributed systems and maintain Docker/Container clusters.
- Address immediate and potential application issues through problem-solving collaboration with team members.
- Provide detailed reports on work completed and projects finished.
- Participate in group meetings to discuss project objectives.
- Assist other developers with troubleshooting, debugging, and coding.
- Meet tight deadlines for fast-paced deliverables.
- Comply with QHSE, Business Continuity, Information Security, Privacy, Risk, Compliance Management, and Governance policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Degree in computer sciences, coding, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Java-based programming.
- Significant coding skills in Java; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of current frameworks, SDKs, APIs, and libraries.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A strong portfolio of high-quality coding projects.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and mentor junior team members.
- Attention to detail in analysis and execution.
