Backend Engineer

The Backend Engineer at Presight will be responsible for leading and contributing to the development of robust and scalable back-end solutions using Java and Kotlin. Key responsibilities include developing and enhancing back-end systems for high performance and responsiveness, architecting and designing complex systems and applications, and designing and maintaining database architectures while optimizing performance and ensuring data integrity. Additionally, the role involves creating and maintaining RESTful APIs for seamless integration with front-end applications, conducting code reviews to uphold code quality and mentor junior developers, and identifying and implementing optimizations to improve system performance, scalability, and reliability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers to deliver high-quality software solutions is essential, as well as generating technical documentation for software solutions, APIs, and database designs.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in back-end development with a focus on Java/Kotlin. Experience with blockchain is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Java and relevant frameworks (Spring); strong experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB; understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
